Ramadan Mubarak!

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

Ramadhan is the month
In which was sent down
The Qur'an, as a guide
To mankind, also clear Signs
For guidance and judgment
Between right and wrong

The Holy Qur'an
Al Baqarah : 185

Like last year, the Muslim Wife's Kitchen will be closed during the month of Ramadan to give myself, and everyone else, a chance to take advantage of the incredible blessings available to us. Insha'allah, I'll be back after Ramadan to share some new recipes and ideas with you, but until then, I will still be (kind of) available thru email/comments if you do have any questions. See y'all later insha'allah!

We ask Allah to accept our efforts and forgive us our sins, ameen!

And because this is a food site, I thought these article would be a great reminder to myself and all the rest of the cooks out there insha'allah! :

  5. My salaam to you. I only just discovered this blog today. The recipes look so good, thank you for taking the time to do this! I have a question: do Muslims need to wash ground meat before cooking? I have searched and searched and I do not have a definitive answer. I once came across an answer that after an animal is slaughtered and drained of it's blood, any blood that remains is halal. However, many Muslims wash their ground meat and I do too but the extra water means that when I make kofta kebab they don't stick together as well. Then when I cook the kebab lots of water is exuded from the meat and the meat obviously can't brown properly. Any help would be much appreciated. Halal restaurants don't wash their ground meat so do I have to at home? Ramadan Mubarak, I can't believe half of the month is already over!
